8 -BIT
8-BIT is a Common Brawler who is unlocked as a Trophy Road reward upon reaching 6000 Trophies. He has both high health and damage output, but suffers from a significantly slower movement speed compared to other Brawlers. He wields a laser gun that he uses to fire high-damage beams at enemies at long range, with a slight spread. His Super creates a Damage Booster, granting him and his allies to gain a 30% damage boost dealt to enemies while in its radius. His Gadget, Cheat Cartridge, allows him to instantly teleport to his Damage Booster. His first Star Power, Boosted Booster, increases his Damage Booster range by 50%. His second Star Power, Plugged In, increases his speed while near his Damage Booster.
Attack: Blaster Beams
"Shoots a burst of Blaster Beams that damage any opponent they hit. The beams have medium range and a slight spread."
8-BIT shoots a long-ranged burst of six light beams with a small spread that deals little damage each. If all beams connect, he can deal a decent amount of burst damage.
Super: Damage Booster
"Deploys a turret that increases the damage output of all friendly Brawlers in its area of effect."
8-BIT throws a turret that increases the damage output of himself and allies around its radius by 30%. This will also increase the healing power of certain Brawlers (such as Poco), but does not affect turrets or pets (such as Nita's bear or Jessie's turret). It also does not affect the Siege bot or IKE turret in Siege, or enemy Brawlers. The effect does not stack with other 8-BITs' turrets. However, if a Brawler's Super helps them move, such as Bull or El Primo, and they were inside the damage booster's range before using their Super, then the damage boost is applied. Note: this does not affect Star Powers such as Brock's Incendiary or Barley's Extra Noxious.
Gadget: Cheat Cartridge
"8-BIT instantly teleports to his Damage Booster."
8-BIT will instantly teleport over to his booster. He has to be within 12 tiles of his booster to be able to use this Gadget.
Star Powers
Boosted Booster
"Increases the Damage Booster's radius by 50%."
This increases the overall range of the Damage Booster by 50%, allowing it to cover more ground and affect more allies.
Plugged In
"When 8-BIT is near his Damage Booster, he will plug in and have increased movement speed."
While 8-BIT is within 7 tiles of his Damage Booster, his movement speed is increased from 580 points to 770 points.
Tips
-
As the slowest Brawler in the game, 8-BIT is very vulnerable to the fast-moving speed Brawlers, such as Crow or Leon. At the start of Showdown matches, focus first in defeating these Brawlers at a distance before they get closer and get the chance to deal a lot more damage.
-
Although he has slow movement, he has one of the longest ranges in the game. Take advantage of this to out-range most of the Brawlers in the game.
-
If an enemy is chasing 8-BIT, try to deal as much damage to the enemy to force them to retreat, as you most likely will not be able to outrun them. In some situations, 8-BIT can use his Gadget to teleport away from danger.
-
If you are low on health and someone is chasing you, you can place your booster down to tank some shots so you can escape more easily. Keep in mind, this will not work against Penny or Jessie as their projectiles will not be fully blocked.
-
When surprising someone, 8-BIT can throw his Damage Booster towards them before rushing in. Not only will this allow him to attack the enemy with increased damage, but the booster could tank some damage for 8-BIT.
-
Due to 8-BIT's slow movement speed, dodging bullets from Sharpshooters like Colt or Rico, or Throwers like Barley or Tick will be difficult. So dealing damage behind cover or from afar is recommended as the enemies will not be able to hit him as easily.
-
Both of his Star Powers can be used effectively in different situations:
-
Boosted Booster is best used in 3v3 Events and in Special Events due to the extended range of his Damage Booster, allowing more allies to be in range of his booster to deal more damage.
-
Plugged In can help 8-BIT fight the fast and long-ranged Brawlers he is usually prone to much easier in Showdown. It can also be useful in Events that involve pushing and retreating such as Gem Grab and Bounty. The speed boost can also help 8-BIT score in Brawl Ball, as well as secure bolts and control the center in Siege.
-
8-BIT's Cheat Cartridge Gadget can be used to rush an enemy, by throwing his booster over the wall towards the enemy before teleporting. He normally cannot rush an enemy effectively due to his slow movement speed. It can also be used to escape enemies by teleporting away if you're in low health or being cornered.
